White Stag, Mormond Hill, Scotland

The White Stag of Mormond Hill, Scotland, was constructed in 1870 as a wedding present. It is
240' long and constructed from quartz rocks approximatelty 5" in diameter. At one time, it was an outline figure only, but at some point, got filled in as a solid figure.

The Gentle Giant of Craigmillar, Edinburgh Scotland

This megalithic sculpture of Gulliver was designed by Jimmy Boyle, a former gangster and murderer while still a prisoner in the Special Unit in Barlinnie Prison in Glasgow. It was built by unemployed adults and youth, and completed in 1976. It has fallen into disrepair, and may be threatened with demolition. More on the Craigmillar Gulliver.
