The View From Above is a collection of megalithic messages, designs, and graffiti placed on the surface of the earth specifically to be viewed from the air. Some are modern, some are the creations of ancient cultures. I will try to give you a little information about each of the photos posted here, and would appreciate any information or comments you may have, as well.

Tibetan Ice Characters on Frozen lake
32°54'30.71"N 97° 2'46.56"E
A frozen lake near Gyegu, Tibet displays huge tibetan characters carved into the ice and snow. The characters represent a common Tibetan mantra, "Om mani padme hung" - the mantra of Chenrezig, a buddhist Bodhisattva. Roughly translated, the phrase means "May all beings atttain enlightenment." The tallest letters are approximately 192 feet tall.
